Me and a buddy of mine are considering opening an Arcade type place with laser tag and/or paintball. I don't know how popular either are currently, but I believe put in the right place and done correctly could put up some interesting money figures.

Truth is, the closest place like this to us is in Winsconsin, or they are small, cheesy ones. There aren't many arcade type places here in the Chicago and Chicagoland area, however, and the location we have in mind is only 20 minutes from the loop (downtown) and pretty much centered around the most populated suburbs (Summit, Maywood, Broadview, Riverside, Berwyn) .

In theory it could be cool, but what are some opinions of some of you people out there as fans of the games and entrepunures and investors.

the paint ball would be indoors. the place we have picked out is 125,000 square feet. Whether or not We'll use it all (at first) we dont know. we just need to get a number of people to say, yea, that would be a good idea.

you will make tons of money by doing a paintball field, here in nova scotia every sunday at least 500 people are at the paintball field! and if its that far away people will travel to get to your place, they pay a 10.00 walk on fee plus they have to buy paint from them and can get there tanks filled there too, they charge 0.05 cents a ball, so they will spend a lot my husband pays about 80 bucks every sunday! GOOD LUCK!

im not truly from chicago although i lived ther for 2 years. i was very yound and donr temember much. my advice is to open both if you have enough land where you are considering for your business and here is how you do it. to begin build an indoor field for paintball use during the afternoon when it is hot in the summer and for lasertag in the winter. also make sure you have some outdoor fields for both. you will be able to make some seereious cash because you will have both and you can appeal to everyone.

Paintball is currently the 3 largest extreme sport in the US. Lasertag is kinda falling out, but if you made it really cool it could work.

You would have to make both of them scenario games.

I can tell you that many of my male and female friends who love you if you did that! Open one. My college would often try to get a paintballing/laser tag trip together but because they are so far many people would not go.
