Archaeologist don't usually make any money in their profession, unless they make a huge find and sell their claim to an artifact to some museum, whitch in most cases the state allready owns the rights. There just there to enjoy the fame of the find. Usually archaeologists are allready wealthy , before they enter into this profession. They are usually employed by Universities, or Governments with a rich history of archaelological finds, or other organizations whom get their funding from private donors. If you want to be an Archaeologist, get ready to enjoy looking at bones, because your likely to be looking a lot at your own from behind the thin walls of skin that cover your own. Many Archaeologists are Starving themselves for the love of a hand shovel and a brush.....

depends on how far they go in their schooling..an undergraduate degree will pay only $9.50...but you arent actually recognized as an archaeologist (no field or lab work). Most archaeologists get money from grants so it varies...also some start field schools....about 50,000 median range for phd professeurs at universities. its not about the money tho...
