Me and a buddy of mine are considering opening an Arcade type place with laser tag and/or paintball. I don't know how popular either are currently, but I believe put in the right place and done correctly could put up some interesting money figures.
Truth is, the closest place like this to us is in Winsconsin, or they are small, cheesy ones. There aren't many arcade type places here in the Chicago and Chicagoland area, however, and the location we have in mind is only 20 minutes from the loop (downtown) and pretty much centered around the most populated suburbs (Summit, Maywood, Broadview, Riverside, Berwyn) .
In theory it could be cool, but what are some opinions of some of you people out there as fans of the games and entrepunures and investors.

oh yeah! and you get alot of money off it too... people love doing that for birthdays. maybe you could put some kind of birthday package together for people too(like 1 game of laser tag and 2 paintball games for $20 off if you have this many people)

I live in New Jersey but paintball is extremely popular here. I actually just played in a tournament on Sunday and there were about 22 teams that entered from central jersey. Paintball is Americas fastest growing sport, and there is a lot of money to be made. Laser tag, not so much.

im not truly from chicago although i lived ther for 2 years. i was very yound and donr temember much. my advice is to open both if you have enough land where you are considering for your business and here is how you do it. to begin build an indoor field for paintball use during the afternoon when it is hot in the summer and for lasertag in the winter. also make sure you have some outdoor fields for both. you will be able to make some seereious cash because you will have both and you can appeal to everyone.

I think a paintball field would be great my friends and i drive either to Wisconsin or to joliet to play they are the closets places to play around
