Personally, I think that Friar Lawrence was trying to set up a sexual encounter with Juliet. Sort of like a medieval version of trolling for teenaged girls on chat lines. Lucky thing the letter never got through. A reporter from Dateline NBC might have been waiting for him.

Of course I read this. "West Side Story " was patterened after it. The letter from the friar was to tell Romeo that Juliet was still alive, so that if he heard of her "death" he would know it was a fake death. Unfortunately, Romeo's friend , who had seen the funeral of Juliet, rides to tell Romeo. He gets there before the guy with the letter!!!! So Romeo goes back, goes into the tomb and sees Juliet, who was still asleep from the drug that the friar had given her. Romeo assumes she is dead. He drinks poison so that he will die and be with her, if not in life, than in death. Juliet awakes. She sees the dead Romeo. The friar begs her to leave with him. She refuses. She kisses Romeo's lips, in hopes of getting poison. No luck. So she takes a dagger and plunges it into her heart. Now they are together. Now the town is so unhappy. The feuding families see how constant squabbling can affect people's lives. Thus ends the story of Juliet and her Romeo.

The letter basically told Romeo about how Juliet and him, the Frair faked her death by making her drink a potion he made.
So, if there were any word on her death, to know that she really wasn't dead. It basically told him to meet Juliet in the cemetary place where she would be burried with her relatives. I believe Mercutio was burried their too. Obviously, the plague kept the messenger from ever getting to Romeo, and what eventually happened was what the friar feared would have happened if he never wrote the letter.
The letter basically said not to worry, shes not really dead.

You should write about how Friar Lawrence had to give Juliet a potion that makes her appear dead so that she doesn't have to marry Paris. Tell Romeo that you (Friar Lawrence) want him to come be at the Capulet's burial monument site so that when Juliet wakes up they can go and run away together.

I think the letter was meant to tell Romeo that Juliet was not really dead, she was just faking it, so not to be upset by what he heard. It was probably meant to insure that Romeo wouldn't go off a cliff when he heard about Juliet's death. However, the letter was never delievered. I'm guessing, though, it was telling Romeo the plans about Juliet.
p.s., you make up your own letter, I'll just give you ideas, thanks

The letter said something like,
"Dear Romeo,
I hope you are faring well in Mantua. Things in Verona are not so good. Lord Capulet has demanded Juliet marry Count Paris. Juliet came to ask me for a solution, so I gave her a vial...."
Etc., etc.

I think it tell you in the story,
It was the plan that the Friar and Juliet was planning, the letter was telling Romeo that she is going to pretend to be dead and he can come to meet up later.
He never got the letter, so when he hears that she has died, he kills himself, moments later she wakes up, finds him dead and kills herself...tragic

the letter told of the plan how Juliet was gonna fake her death so she would be placed in a tomb. from there Romeo was to arrive and take her back since she will heal from the solution she drank.
