Get away from everything takes us back to our roots. Burning things on a fire. Sex in the woods. Great views. Stars .

In my opinion, there is nothing better than the open air. When you are camping even for a few days you can leave behind the stresses and worries of whatever is going on at home. When camping your worries include things like firewood. I love that I can go away and come back, and have to spend a lot less then going far away on vacation. I get to lay under the stars, listen to the crickets, and not worry about the alarm clock going off. I wake when I am ready, sleep when I want and have nothin to do but what I want to do like hike, or swim.

It's a totally different set of rules!
When you camp, you have to think of things you never have to at home. For instance, at home if you get a little chilly you probably turn up the thermostat. Camping requires that you to get more wood for the campfire.
Cooking at home, the fridge and the stove....Camping, the tripod over the campfire and the iron cookware.
Bed time at home turn off the TV and go to bed....Camping, sleeping bag and air mattress.
It makes me forget about the bills, neighbors, computer, my job, and just about everything else after just a day or two out in the bush.
Lastly, I really think that camping is a break from the everyday repetitive sequence of events. A total creative challenge for my brain.

It is a means of entertainment that can provide wholesome and healthy fun. It is a form of disconnection from the life we, as people, experience in this hard and cold world. Think of it, you can go fishing and then prepare and eat the fish. This is wonderful! You can put up a tent and sleep in a cool, unencumbered place. You can take enough family and friends with you to insure that it will be a memorable time together. Just be sure that you are well equipped with cellphone, canned goods, and other necessities that you would take to a remote yet comfortable campsite. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

to be one with nature. If you have never done it try it with a friend you will be surprised how freeing it is. No phones, no bills, no house to clean. I lived this way with 4 kids, my husband and a dog for 6 months while our house was being built. It was just great. You get to know your family, you see the real them as they have to talk. Simple things like washing or swimming in the lake, picking flowers or shells and sharing their beauty with each other is so relaxing. Hiking through the wooks and hearing the little critters and seeing them build and stock their homes. Sleeping under the moon and stars is just breathtaking. We even did it in the snow in the mountains. It is no for everyone but unless you have tried it don't forget to do it some day with someone. Sometimes peacefulness is all we need to rejuvenate ourselves. Being alone with ourselves lets us hash through the bad stuff and cleanse ourselves and start fresh. great feeling

I don't know how they enjoy it either. I guess it's just an interest. Maybe campers don't like playing on the Internet and wonder how anyone can.

Maybe they like to solitude of being away from the hustle of daily life. Hey, maybe I do want to take up camping.

It is something that I never did as a child, actually my parents form of camping was to stay in a hotel with no pool. But as an adult, and with my husband, it is an outdoor activity that I (we) enjoy with our family and friends, it is the only time I can actually allow myself to really relax (no housework, laundry, or other family duties) and to enjoy my children.

Well for one, it allows you to stop thinking about work, bills, grudges with co-workers, etc. It's a chance to key out and think about you and your survival. Of course, there are the panzy campgrounds with swimming pools, hot tubs, etc. That's not camping. Going out into the mountains to pitch a tent and live there for the sake of survival, re-vitalizes your self-esteem that if you can survive out here, anywhere else is cake.

Sure you'll get dirty.

Sure you'll have to use a spade to take a poop in, then bury it.

But you're giving yourself a sense of self-reliance, survival, confidence, self-esteem, purpose, reason, and clarity you can't get by sleeping a tent in your own backyard.

Peace, quiet, serenity. Getting away from the daily urban routine and being in a more natural environment. I don't want to take conviences like, TV, telephones, etc. Certainly not taking a camper--house on wheels defeats the purpose. To watch, listen to, smell, and feel nature.

When I go on a camping trip, I am not tired when I go home, but totally relaxed and renewed. Also, don't have to watch the kids too much.
