Yes. They use radar or infrared beams to detect a moving vehicle, and the camera has a flash on it. Depending on the country, you may or may not see the camera until it's too late. In the UK, you can claim back the penalty if you can prove there was no sign warning of a speed camera within a certain distance, or if there are no road markings by the camera. Or, just be careful as in the next few years I predict the use of cameras banned as one clocked a brick wall travelling at 60mph.

unfortunately yes they do - however there is a way of knowing whether there is a camera in or not.

You cant see the camera itself but you can see the flash be cautious with ones you have never been past before look in your mirror at the camera if all you can see is black it does not have a camera in however if you can see a white circle in it that is the flash so therefore there is a camera in it so you know for future reference that there is a camera inside so be extra cautious with those ones.

Do be careful with the ones you have seen that didn't have cameras in last time you saw them as they are sometimes switched around in order to catch you out.

Yes they still work and if you get caught by one you in trouble, but you can try and escape the fine by asking when the camera was last configured as there is a certain time limit when cameras need to be reconfigured but not sure how long this is, so you could get lucky if cought by one

They sure can. They can't take your picture face on though. So if you travelling on road and camera is on opposite side then can't get done.Reason being the flash could blind u and distract from driving.
