I figured out how to take out the screws and open up the part of the phone with the screen, but after that I'm lost. Does anyone know what is making my phone act like this? I really would like to fix it myself without having to send it in because I need my phone. However, I need guidance because I don't want to break my phone either. Please help! Thanks :)

Edit:

Since everyone is giving me advice to take it in to the store to get it fixed, I DON'T want to do that, because Sprint is full of jerks who decided they wanted to charge me $50 for something that wasn't my fault, and was supposed to be covered, which they now decided that I either have to pay them or send it in to LG and wait 2 weeks for them to give me a new phone. So if anyone has ever fixed this kind of problem with their own phone, that kind of information would be appreciated. No offense.

Some phones have small screws holding the covers and electronic components together. If the screen lights up when held in a certain position it could be a loose contact. This happened on my Nokia 7110 and I fixed it by tightening the screws behind the rear cover. I had to buy a special driver from DICK SMITH (Australia) as the screws were non standard. On some flip phones it could be the ribbon tape that is loose.

the tech should be able to fix it right there in the store...if he's there. don't try to fix it yourself. you can do more harm than good. from the sounds of your problem, i think it's loose wires. don't be stupid and try to fix it urself. there are also other cellphone stores that have techs in house that will fix them really quick, and they are trained professionals. third-party places like that usually do good job, and charge way less. trust me! i've had plenty of problems like that fixed. all you have to do is bust out the good 'ol yellowpages, and call around.

this is a problem that cannot be fixed yourself unless you have a brand new flip in your posession. take my word for it, because i work for a sprint/nextel repair center

usually if you take your phone into your service place, they will give you a back up phone to use if you really need it.
