They know more about the communications opportunies available to them, but that does not mean that they practice better communications techniques, which has not changed with the technology.
One reason they might not be better communicators is because, in spite of having more ways to communicate, many of them spend more time playing computer/video games, which teaches little in terms of communications skills, let alone problem-solving skills that require real-life experience. So ironically they appear to be less equipped than previous generations for social interactions.
Adding to this problem is the general issue of coddling boomer parents, who have managed to insulate their kids from real world experience, so that even if they didn't have the gaming experience, their parents might have found another way to strangle real communications and problem-solving experience out of their lives. This generation has earned the embarassing title of having "helicopter parents" (constantly hovering and bailing them out) at my college.

I think worse. It seems that kids don't get alot of face to face communication these days which enhances the communication ability, I think. There is less communication within families these days as well.

I think that the ways of communicating are better but some of thing that it is being used is tragic.like on-line predators and crimes using picture phones. It seems whenever something good comes along somebody will find a way to use it to do harm.

I think they're worse. All the text messaging they do, they never use full phrases or words. For example, lol or syl (see you later). With technology being what it is now, there's not substitute for good, old - fashioned conversation. Face to face. Reading is almost a bygone also. It's kind of sad when you think about it.

Definitely worse. They suck when it comes to face-to-face interactions. Amongst their normal group of friends, things are fine... but when it comes to communicating with new people, they fall flat on their faces.

I think it would have to be worse. It all takes away the social skills required and makes it all a bit impersonal.

They are worse. They don't know how to communicate in person, face to face.

They are better communicators to one another and no one else. They have isolated themselves from real face to face conversation. they are always ringing and buzzing just dont throw water on them or they will die from electrocution. I wonder what they do when it rains. hm

But there's a flip side. They can spread rumors much faster now. Isn't that great?
