Take it to the dealer and have the check engine codes scanned. It will tell you precisely what caused it to cut off. I know they are expensive, but that's the cost of ownership on a Benz. BTW if you are not getting proper service from the dealership, I'm sure corporate would want to know. MBZ service is among the best worldwide.

You'll need to take it to a Benz dealer to have it diagnosed. Few independant garages have the computer system needed to test that model properly. Trying to proceed without a diagnosis is no better than rolling dice.

At the very least, any garage can hook an OBDC-II scanner to it and read the codes. That may or may not help.

My local Benz dealer charges less than half what the Dodge dealer down the street does for a diagnostic run. And the Benz dealer doesn't charge for additional diagnosis if they can't figure it out the first time.
