Chicago can be an awarding city to live in. The job market can be great especially if you are bilingual(since there is a large mexican population there) but the it can be very competitive as well, it simply depends on what field of work you are in. Having friends or family there is always a big help in job suggestions.

Good Luck, and get used to cold weather.

Yahoo job search for the chicago area is the BEST way to go. There is soooooooo many jobs listed on yahoo job search im sure you will find plenty of listings with phone numbers and business names. Also have a resume read to e-mail them just in case they want to see it right away and you can also list that with yahoo jobs search for employers to find online, they look there alot. Place it in the "profesional, bilingual forigner " catergory for chicago and i bet someone will see it threre shortly. Yahoo job search listing is AWESOME for that.

If you desire to waitress, simply exhibit up. Seriously, such a lot waitresses are employed correct instantaneous, in particular at bars and such. And the truth that you are from Ireland is a plus, because Chicago has such a lot of "Irish" bars (or bars that declare to be "Irish") that having an reputable Irish man or woman operating there provides to their authenticity. So use that in your expertise. I realize a number of bars that experience hired Irish ladies ago as waitresses and bartenders and maintain to do a little. Most of them are beautiful cool and are available again each summer season. And I suppose they control to get a bit of further cash underneath the desk (recommendations, and many others.) Some control to stick right here yr circular and one even obtained married to a man right here and I went to their reception. in order for you a record of a couple of that perhaps in want, ship me an e-mail. You can ship them a letter and if they are all for hiring you, that may ship a letter of affirmation so that you've some thing to exhibit the gurus to turn out you are going to be gainfully hired. As some distance as operating in a grocery store, that could take an software and you'll ought to pay taxes on what you're making, and many others. You absolutely ought to observe in man or woman.

Depends on your field. Chicago is fairly diverse in terms of job opportunities. Growing sections of the city are in the north and western suburbs.

Try applying at hospitals. They need translators for non-English speaking patients.
