I think it depends on the couple. If they have certain things that they really enjoy doing together, 'their things' can be kind of romantic and personally enticing for a proposal. Your man doing something romantic, like including your favorite flower or meal because he remembered that you liked it would be very heartwarming.

My boyfriend of two years proposed to me this afternoon at a local outdoors restaurant, after pretending that we were just going to get some food before he had to work! Maybe it wasn't on the beach at sunset, but I couldn't think of anything sweeter or more romantic :)

I got proposed to in the parking lot of a laundry mat..lol...doesnt sound too romantic but..u had to be there..its funny...he had been at a friends house and was having a water gun fight with his friends kids...he was wearing his brand new tommy jeans and i picked him up for dinner....he was soaked so we stopped at the laundry mat to put the pants in a dryer..... Earlier the kids had asked who I was because they thought I was his sister ( no we dont look alike..we are totally different nationalities these are small kids)...and he said he told them I was his fiancee..and then he asked me if I wanted to be....not so romantic but it was sweet...u kinda had to be there.

It depends on who is proposing, what your personal preference is, if you plan to accept, and the setting. My personal most romantic way:
a) I love the man who is proposing to me, and he loves me back, and we both know it.
b) I plan to accept
c) Just after a candlelight dinner in a beautiful setting. Perhaps in a grove of trees under the stars on a summer evening.Or on the beach after a barbeque. Or at home after our favorite movie, or listening to our favorite song.

I really think it would be sweet, and am considering, proposing to my special lady whilst we fornicate messily doggy style in the middle of a big cage full of snakes, razorwire, and a rare, flying, blue speckled, left handed, west african reticulated monkapatomas... but that's just me...

i personally am not the type of person to make a big deal out of such things, i also can't comprehend why anyone would spend a fortune on the wedding, i think the focus should be on the life you will have together not the question or the ceremony.

I'm a fan of good old fashioned chivalry hehe... moonlight and roses in a restaurant or a park or maybe by a lake. That would be my ideal spot. Or a magic trick where he pulls the ring out of your ear, heehee! :P

I was 6 months pregnant and felt so big and swollen and I was watching t.v. laying across our bed it was the day after my birthday and he had a puzzled look on his face and he kept pacing up and down the hallway and finally he got down on one knee and I never stopped watching t.v. without looking at him I asked boy what is wrong with you ? Then he began telling me how much he loved me and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him I didn't know whether to laugh or cry
