I would rate Dr.K.J.Yesudas of Malayalam language as the best male singer of India and Lata Mangeshkar the female. Both of them are blessed with a golden voice, God-given gift. They have succeeded in nurturing and moulding it to the best. May God give them a healthy long life to keep on entertaining the mass with their melodies.
