Australia/New Zealand (they're about the same). The actual farthest point is the Solomon Islands, roughly where the island in ABC's "Lost" is apparently located.
A flight to Australia will take approximately 1.5 days (about 8,000 nautical miles).
A flight to China will take approximately 1.25 days (a little over 6,000 nautical miles).
For instance, a flight from JFK to Sydney leaves on June 20, 2006 at 5:29pm and arrives on June 22, 2006 at 6:10am.
A flight from JFK to Shanghai leaves on June 20, 2006 at 9:00am and arrives the next day, June 21, 2006, at 3:55pm.

Australia is the correct answer. China is in the northern hemisphere. It is not closer. The farthest point is actually a series of islands off the west coast of Australia. The name isn't coming to mind right now. I'll edit if I think of it.

That depends, if you go east or west and the middle one, I say would be well, Saudi Arabia, because it sounds like the same distance both ways.
