Degrassi has thus far dealt with very mature topics, such as homosexuality, rape, various sex-related subjects, suicide, and even a school shooting.

You can watch that show, and know that things just like that happen at your school everyday...
One tree hill and The gilmore Girls are how teens deal with each other, Degrassi is how teens deal with everything else
