I've my own domain name but I don't know what software to use to create a blog/website for my club. I'm a self taught HTML user and relatively fluent with HTML scripts.

I need to create the website/blog and allow for easy blogging/site update for my comittee members. They're not very fluent with scripts and the troublesome FTP of Dreamweaver made sites.

Any "simple" to use program would be useful. Thanks.

I've installed and use Movabletype (at http://www.sixapart.com/ ) It's free for noncommercial use, but you will need a little more than the average technical knowledge to get it installed. Apache webserver, then PHP, then MySQL and then Movabletype. An easier alternative might just be to link to the blog facility on Yahoo from your site.

Or

If you've got MySQL or another database installed take a shufty at a free content management system - you comittee could be given author/editor rights to news stories with WYSIWYG interface for input on software like www.phpnuke.org
