I have been involved in the M/C business in all capacities for over 30 years. No. Never buy a bike or a boat with the idea that it will retain the original value, go up in value , or that you will get every dime you spend on it. Especially when you dump $10 to $20 grand in your Harley to make it "Yours". Because you and a few hundred thousand people did the same thing. Buy it, ride it, enjoy it. But invest in the stock market, or real estate. Supply and demand drives the value of Motorcycles just as it does all goods. Right now the market is flooded with all makes and models. I bought over a hundred Harleys for example in my capacity at a H/D dealership in a 12 month period, all late models, from 97s to 2004s. all very clean, many of them with as much as 50% of the original price invested in chrome and performance modifications. I never paid more than five percent over low book. Many of these had less than 1000 miles on them. Again supply and demand. Occasionally a bike will be very rare, and be in demand, and actually go up in value. But this is usually bikes 30 years or older. There are exceptions, but rarely. Buy one and ride it. Just enjoy.

Probably not, and that may or may not be due to the fact that "Victory" products are actually made by the fine folks at Polaris, you know... the same co. that makes snowmobiles , jetski's , and 4 wheelers. Don't get me wrong, that Victory "Hammer" is a pretty slick looking bike.

When someone starts talking about "holding its value", they make me think they don't care about motorcycling, but probably want an excuse to buy a Harley-Davidson.

A motorcycle only has value as long as its under my asss and running.

some what but nothing like a Harley. Me personally you couldn't run fast enough to give me a damned Harley. Way over priced for something you have to work on all the time.

Bad idea. Not one of the better cycles out there. Not as bad as Harleys, but close...
