Kumble can play for another 3-4 years atleast. Shane Warne is way over 35, Lara is 38, so Kumble has a long time to go.
After the world cup, India has a heavy test schedule. On past record, Kumble takes 5 wickets per match.
These days, the Indian bolwing atack is so pathetic, Kumble takes most of the wickets. So going by an average of 6.5 wickets per match, Kumble needs to play 14 tests to reach 600 wickets.
I have no doubt he'll reach that figure. After that, when he retires, India ka kya hoga, bhagwaan hi jaane!

At the rate he is going, it seems to be a tough task ahead for Kumble to take 600 wickets. He needs close to 90 wickets. At an average of 4-5 wickets per test it means he should play 20 tests. With India's schedule till the world cup it looks unlikely. It looks like Kumble will not play after the world cup...
