A man is walking on the beach,
just after taking a long swim in his clothes. He sees a restaurant on the beach.
He walks into the restaurant and gets seated. He looks at the menu and orders
seagull soup. The waitress brings out the soup, he takes one bite, realizes
something & runs out onto the road and gets killed.
The question is: why did he freak out?

this question is also known has albatross soup...
he was stranded on an island with a friend and a dog.
the dog disappears and his friend makes him Albatross soup (or in this case Seagull) to comfort him.
later his friend dies and he manages to escape the island (hence the long swim)
still missing his friend and dog he orders the soup to help him remember them,
After tasting the soup in the resturant he puts 2+2 together and realises the dog was killed to make the first soup because the 2 tastes differently.
realising what had happened he runs out and doesn't see the uncomming traffic.
(note the dog is often replaced for a 3rd person)

I don't recall specifics. He was stranded on a desert island. Thought he had been eating seagull for years. Tastes the seagull soup, realizes that is not what he's been eating all these years, and I think through some convoluted detail I'm not remembering realizes he's been eating human flesh or something like that. Which would make someone freak out, yeah.

why was the guy swimming in his clothes? I don't know maybe he lost his wallet or keys while swimming in his clothes...Is this a trick question?
