If your bunny has a poopy butt, you need to fix what you are feeding him, and get him to a vet ASAP. They only have poopy butt when they are sick, they do not normaly sit in poop. Your vet will explain what to do and how to fix it. www.rabbit.org is a good place to start, and they have people you can contact on there. I would start by calling the vet though. Good luck.

Rabbits like to poop in the corners of their cage. They also like to sit in the corners of their cage. You have to remember that rabbits are hunted by predators and it is their instinct is to hide. The closest place to a hiding place in a pen is the corner. If you have a cage with a wire bottom, I recommend making sure you don't put anything in the corners that poop can build up on. Also make sure you don't support the cage at the corners, the poop will build up on the supports. If it's a solid bottom cage you need to have plenty of bedding in it (about 2" of straw or woodchips) and clean it out about once a week.
You are correct that rabbits shouldn't be washed/bathed, but their fur can be cleaned. To clean stains out of your rabbit's fur, dip a cloth in white vinegar and wring the excess vinegar out. Rub the cloth over the stained portion of the fur to help remove the stain. Repeat the same process with water. After repeating the process with water, dry the fur with a dry towl. You may need to repeat the entire process several times to fully remove the stain.
If your rabbit has poop stuck to its but or stuck around the area where it poops or the fur looks like it's been wet around where it poops, your rabbit probably has diahrrea and it needs treated for diahrrea.
I've been raising and showing rabbits professionally for 24 years. Hope the info helps.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but rabbits are quite stupid. A jackrabbit will sit out in the middle of a field and let a crow peck at its head until it is dead. They are just not very smart animals. They don't know the difference between their poop and a bed of roses.

all rabbits r diff and each one does diff things.
couple reasons for the rabbit not moving: the cage might not give it enough room to move out of its feces, or the rabbit might just be comfy and not want to move.
the dirty part makes it sound like the rabbit has diarrhea, which can cause serious problems if its not taken care of. if the rabbit has diarrhea then i suggest giving it timothy hay or alfalfa and keep any fruits and veggies away until it goes away.
