Would you let them know? By being dishonest, I mean by not mentioning that they did something(not something TOO horrible) that they KNEW you would not approve of. A sin of Omission as it were.Right now, I'm staying quiet about it-but it's killing me! If I keep my mouth SHUT though, it'll give him more rope to hang himself with... GAH! I am so torn between confronting him, or laying low till he blows it on his own and I'll be in the right!

Confront him & get it over with before it festers into something bigger. You said it's not a big deal. So why make it one. Just do it and you'll feel better.

I had this issue with my ex.. He would lie about the smallest most insignificant things. In the beginning, the way I did it- was remember what he said happened or whatever the first time... throughtout the day I would ask him again "where did you say you went.. or what'd u say happened"? His story tended to change...Lil by little . So he'd know he was caught. gradually overtime though the lies became bigger (and i ALWAYS knew when he was lying ) . By this point, I'd look at him, and say "really?.. Are you sure?" If he said yes (usually with a pause just looking at me), I would then phrase the truth as a question.. He would usually deny it, and then I'd tell him I KNEW the facts, and didnt understand why he just couldn't be honest. I found telling him, usually was best - because he realized he wasn't going to get away with it with me. Keep in mind he was a pathalogical lair, and not very good at it either lol..
but relationships should be based on honesty... So when you let him know you know he's being dishonest, tell him that, and give him a hypothetical situation of if you were to lie, and ask how that would make him feel..

You answered your own question if you give em' enough rope they would definitely hang themself.. and by you knowing the truth you could use reverse pyschology and ask him different questions just to see how in depth he would go... If you blow your cover so early he would be on his p's and q's and be more careful not slip up... This gives you the ups on seeing just how dishonest he would be about other things.

Be straight with the guy. Think about it this way if it was the other way around how would you hope for him to deal with this? Just be straight if you cant do that what are you with him for? There has to be honesty there and you have to let him know that he did something wrong, Two wrongs dont make a right

If you want to keep catching him then you cant say anything. He will hide his tracks better the next time. But you already know he was dishonest. Why wait till the next time to confront him ?

don't be scared; face him. ask him about it and tell him to be honest with you. at this moment, you are giving him rope (which is not good). Talk it out with him; this is very important because it'll let you know if he really loves you or using you.

Why play tit for tat?? That is so childish. Just let him blow it. And why get glory for yourself when he blows it?? Grow up! If you love him, you will be there for him and stop trying to find things wrong with him and right with you.

well since i'm not sure what it is its hard to say, i'd tell him though, i wouldn't be able to help it and all that stewing inside you isn't good for you or your relationship, call him on it now instead of waiting for it to get worse.
