Kristalnacht. Germany under the Nazi regime. A lot happened. It had to do with an official being killed giving the Brown Shirts carte blanche to go on a rampage breaking the glass of Jewish business, burning a synagogue or two and civilian casualties to the list. Goering flipped out.

Kristallnacht, or the Night of the Broken glass was a period during the halocaust where Nazi troops went through Jewish towns and villages and smashed in storefronts and burnt them to the ground. The destruction wasn't limited to buisness, however, as several thousand synagouges were burned and destroyed otherwise.
