No, it is caused by a virus and there are no cures for viruses. The only way you can tell if some has herpes is if you can acutally see lesions or if you ask the person if they have it.

I'm sorry, but you should have never gave that person head. Because Herpies symplex B and C are incurable. Go talk to your doctor, because if it's Symplex A it can be cleared up. Otherwise I'd suggest drug therapy for it, which will still allow it to spread, but reduce the amount of cold sores you develope.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Don't kiss a person with sores on their mouth and don't go down on someone who has sores on their genital area.
