Do I have a cult following or what? Am I stuck with the kitty forever?

You have become one with the kitty.
When you got rid of the kitty it disturbed everyone's sense of reality and what is constant and reliable.
Bad kitty! Bad!

The way I saw it, many of the Avatars here represent the person that they are. I mean, I could look at your kitty, and recognize you, same with Mojoman's and Cutelittlered, Laura, etc. etc. Then everyone was changing their avatars, which seemed odd. If I ever got to the status of where I was recognized, I would keep my Avatar as it is.

If you want to change your avatar, I think that is your choice. If you have followers, well, power to you. I wouldn't want to be a kitty forever either. Go and change your avatar, they were upset because you had one better then theirs. I usually don't look at the avatars unless that person gave a good answer and I try to make note, because if the question goes into voting, I'll vote for that person if they still have the best answer under that question. GO FOR IT, CHANGE IT IF YOU WANT!

I think that you can do whatever you want with your avatar. I liked your other avatar, too,very refined choice and different from the first one.
This one is unique and makes you think,it is more related to your nickname, it was talking to the mind ; the other one was more used, a fragile creation in need of protection, it was talking to our feelings.
What can I suppose in order to explain people's behaviour?
Habit? Very-very beautiful avatar that they wanted to see, as they are tired from daily life and they try to find something relaxing? Maybe this was the reason why they felt disappointed when you have taken away the kitty? Both? I.Q versus E.Q? And the second one won?

But yeah, folks are a touch sensative if they hassle you for getting rid of a kitty avatar. But it's your choice - find the pic that works for you! For Cripe's sake, you've just retired the graphic, it's not like you drowned the poor thing in a burlap sack!!

It's a cute cat, but I'm on this site most of the day (yes, I'm addicted), and I've never noticed you or the avatar.
