You look at a picture of your parents and think they look silly in what they're wearing. Then that style comes in again. And you WEAR it! LOL

For me, it was rolling up the jeans. They did it in the 50's, and we did it in high school in the 80's.

But when bellbottoms came back, I just couldn't wear 'em. Just couldn't do it. *laugh*

There is a line from an old movie stating that "If people looked at old [photo] albums more often, they would not take themselves so seriously."

My mom never wore anything fashionable when she was younger, she was the opposite of a slave to fashion-a wannabe hippie you could say. Except for bell bottoms, tye dye shirts and those flowing hippie shirts with a tie at the top. I didn't own any actual bellbottoms when they came back into style, but I still dig tyedye every once in a while. My baby wears some tyedye onesies that my mom got for him.

One style I never understood, as evidenced in "back to the future" was the 'life jacket' style puffy nylon vests that were popular in the 70's and 80's, what the #*$$ was up with that? They didn't look good, they didn't feel good, and now they're trying to make a comeback from the dead!! Quick, somebody get a wooden stake and some holy water~!~

i think that pleeted skirts it funny that they are HUGE now, but when i went to catholic school i hated wearing them.

also, the stirrup pants i think are still ugly but i see them in the juniors section. and a lot of 80's clothes that i just think are really really bad...

bellbottoms i can do. i love those, but the tightleg boot cut cowboy jeans... no thanks.
