I'm not late with my period or anything put I recently had UP sex with my partner. How early can a pregnancy be detected via blood or urine?

My doctor did a blood test because I am having surgery done. It has been only 8 days since I had UP sex. I guess I'm truly concerned about the detection time. I wouldn't think any test with be that accurate now.

UP SEX? hmmm must be a new rave thing, eh?

It takes about six weeks (the least), but 2-3 months to make sure.

Your doctor can tell you after 6 weeks with a blood test.

Oh, and you can HAVE a period or two, when your pregnant, since you have two overies and only one of them discharges during ovulation, the one that is not with child sometimes will have a period and you wont even know your pregnant!! My cousin had three of them, while she was pregnant...

I wish you well..

Five days before your missed period as far as over the counter pregnancy tests. Isn't that what the commercials say? It's probably earlier if you go to the doctor though, more expensive.
