Up until recently the odds were less than getting killed in a terrorist attack. Of course I think Ann Coulter had something to do with that conversation, so perhaps there is no solid figures there after all. All I can say is you won't get a bite without putting you're line in the water!

I was just at a wedding for a 40 year old. She seemed really happy. The challenges for getting married at that age...many men at 40 who have not yet been married may have 'issues' (with commitment, with having a family etc) or usually they'd be married by then, have to marry a widower, or a divorced man, with or without children. Nothing wrong with any of these categories unless the woman sees them in a negative light. Each group has its advantages too.

Actually, odds are better for women in their 40's than women in their 20's! This is so because 20 year old women are still maturing, some career minded and 40 year old women already know what they want.

It was in Newsweek a few weeks ago as an update to that story about 40 year old women being more likely to be attacked by a terrorist than to marry.

It depends what she does. If she sits around feeling sorry for herself and does nothing about it then nothing will occur. There are lots of single men around that age too so the trick is to be proactive and then the odds go up considerably.

it is up to you--DO NOT SETTLE, JUST TO GET MARRIED--IF YOU HAVE WAITED THIS LONG, TO FIND THE RIGHT PARTNER, DO NOT SETTLE, JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE GETTING OLDER- i was 24 the first time i married, 41 the second time, and 50 the third and final time, and am now truly happy, with my soul-mate !!! my third & final wife, was 52 1/2 when we married, and she is 2 1/2 yrs older than me..so what--will rodgers said--"age is a matter of mind. if you don't mind, it doesn't matter ! " your age is unimportant..be yourself- you could be attracted to younger or older men--it is not important- the man in question, is who is important..does he love and appreciate you?? that is what is important !! don't give up & don't settle !! my wife was divorced for over 13 yrs, and had sort of given up on re-marrying !! i met her, and fell in love with her, in a very short period of time..yet- we waited for 2 yrs to get married, to make sure we could live together harmoniously, since we were both in our fifties, and were pretty set in our ways, in many different areas..we are going to celebrate our TENTH ANNIVERSARY, THIS NOVEMBER NINTH, and are very very happy together--FINALLY-IT STINKS THAT I HAD TO GO THROUGH TWO PREVIOUS MARRIAGES TO FIND TRUE HAPPINESS--YET, I AM AN OPTIMIST, AND IT FINALLY PAID OFF !! THANK GOD !! be confident in who you are..have faith in yourself. things will work out for the best !! P.S. my stepson, got married at age 42, to a woman age 45, his first, her second and they just had their 2 nd anniversary and are truly soul -mates !! hang in there, kiddo--keep the faith, baby !!! if i can be of further help--holler back at me..good luck to you !!! i forgot to mention, that i met my wife, through a personals ad, in a local newspaper & my stepson, met his wife, through an online deal for singles. she was in new hampshire, he was in tx. so , there-- think about that dating service, that is advertised on TV- that dr. neil something, the pres.of the co.. he looks wholesome-who knows what can happen, if you try something different.. my wife put her ad in, on a dare from a friend, and look what it did for us!!! good luck to you kiddo !!!!!!!

Being with a person she loves and wants to share the life with.

Moreover, if she is 40, she is probably more experienced, mature and knows exactly what she wants. Her criteria (and his, probably) are staid and they both are more likely to respect each other and their marriage.

Any age can marry. Some just don't feel comfortable on getting married at that age. Does she have children?

There might be a small chance, but if your fit and healthy, age might not matter. Just being yourself might attract other middle aged men or even the younglings ;)

Its up to you.
