Is it to add spice to the mix or merely to annoy the semi-intellectuals ?

That's exactly what happens to me!! I personally like to answer cuz sometimes something funny might blurt out, etc.
In life it's hard to have someone listen to you, even in writing, but when your answer is sought, it kind of makes you important and confident that at least they'll be listening for the answer.
Maybe I just need to get a life... but that's too hard, so I'm gonna keep answering questions like there was no freaking tomorrow

It's probably because you have nothing better to do than sit around and read questions. You then try to answer them just so you can feel intelligent because you're not doing anything constructive and devoting your time to something you do know about.

To ask a silly question like this, you must be either really bored or maybe you are trying to do some self-analysis without realizing that your doing it!

Something to think about anyway.

I think it's your male instinct to spread your 'seed', figuratively speaking. It doesn't matter where the deposit is made as long as it's made.

LMAO right now! Just went through and read my answer to "Where are all the adults with I.Q. scores of 130 or higher??" asked by christifsu who is now calling herself pnthrgirl or something like that. Duh....I forgot that it was part of the question, you're too freakin' hilarious!! I may have an I.Q. of 133, but my memory sucks. Seems sort of funny that I answered this question when I knew nothing about it!!!

I think someone around here asked something about morons answering questions, I feel that it is appropriate that I go answer it now.

Oh my God, I just went to answer it and I already did, see what I mean about the memory thing? And yes, it was quite the moronic answer.

i like to wait till some wannabe intellectual(s)/pretentious ******* who have no clue on the subject(s) being discussed yet must weigh in just to "hear their own voice" as it were; then sardonically torpedo the self-righteous gas-bags; hey they say good things come to those who wait, right? Great fun, poking holes in the smugly self-righteous!
Yeah, the points are always cool too.

You are looking to belong. By contributing to a conversation that you have no idea what the real answers are you are looking to be accepted. You are probably smarter than you think. Try to just listen for a while.

I think i's better to know something about the question but some questions don't deserve a good answer because they are stupid.

We all do... I answer questions like that too... Perhaps from personal experience or I read something about that... Like someone said, above... To contribute or to plant a seed... Or maybe you like to see what you wrote "published".

Because this site is a good way to kill time, get your two-cents in, and get a good laugh from time to time, and it beats watching anything on tv!
