yes magic spells really work, but in order for them to work you have to have a working knowledge of the witches pyramid & you have to act in accord. The Witches Pyramid is; To Know, to Will, to Dare, to keep silent.

You have to know the different types of magic, and what will work best for your particular spell, you have to know your magical correspondences, and if the timing is right for specific spells,

you have to be able to concentrate and focus your Will (true will) to manifest your goals,

you have the wear with all to dare to follow through & complete the working,

and you have to keep silent, words are power, when you talk about spell work that you have done you are de-valuing it, you are whittleing away at the energy you have concentrated & directed for your goal...

To act in accord means, you have to follow through, if you do a spell to find a better job, you need to do the legwork, get your resume out there, show up on time & properly dressed & well prepeared for interviews. Magic is just a tool, a tool similar to prayer, it works based on faith, and based on your actions. If you pray for good health & then eat crap your prayers are not going to be answered... same with spell work..

the one caveat with spell work... no matter what magical tradition you work within they are all ruled by the laws of reciprocity...

(often confused with the hindu concept of karma- which literally means action and really has no place in most discussions about magic... the hindu concept of karma spans lifetimes, if a hindu remains true to his dharma, their karmic reward will be an elevation in caste in the next life... it is often confused with the concept of reciporocity or "what goes around, comes around" but the two terms are completely unrelated...)

reciprocity is the "three fold law" to wiccans and it is the concept that; "the gods hate a hypocrite" to many other magical tradtions out there... what that means is if you cast a spell against someone for something like a rape or murder... the gods better not find you guilty of that crime or they will kick your proverbial 'booty' and kick it hard!!! way harder than three fold!!! you would wish for 3 fold!!!

Yes they do. The difference between a spell and a christian prayer is purely somantics.

A prayer: a person focuses on the request of their god and asks for intervention.

A spell: A witch (any good one that is worth their initiation) uses inscence and uses invocation to ask the goddes for help in a matter (a request) with focus and direction.

The only thing with spells is this: Any negative working will only cause problems for the one casting it. These are usually done by "wanna be" witches or what we call "IRABS" (I read a book). True witches that have gone through the year and a day teachings know better. Spells that are done for the purpose of bringing love to someone, can cause problems as well. If only one person is interested the other can develope hatred for being brought into a situation they don't want. Spells for personal gain: Don't work, it is against the laws of Karma.

Spells require a great deal of knowledge and also the ability to accept responsibility for the results.

To all those who say no and believe that their answer is the only logical , rational and there by correct answer I think you may be interested to know that it has been apparent (in many science labs around the world) as early as the late seventies that people can do extraordinary things with their minds examples ; telepathy precognition and so on . And as of recent it now appears that magick may actually be apart of the great GUT (for you non-physics buffs thats the Grand Unification Theory) .
So yes magick does work and I say this not just because science can now prove its existence but also because it has for me and will for anyone who does the same . But as others have said be careful and know what your getting yourself into before trying to attempt anything .

sure, Wiccans and Witches of all traditions can and usually do use spells. (nonetheless no longer all experience the could). i'm no longer Wiccan, yet a Witch, there's a distinction nonetheless many do no longer are attentive to it. in many situations casting a spell is quite very such as a prayer. In others it relatively is working with the organic energies around us each and all of the time to assist convey a pair of particular difficulty. i'm no longer an "an it harm none" Wiccan. i've got confidence that if a spell desires to be achieved in self protection or the protection of others (offering all mundane avenues have not worked), and could do a spell to bind somebody from harming others if I could, yet this is a final motel. maximum spells ARE achieved as a final motel. they are no longer the 1st ingredient maximum Witches do. First we do what we are able to interior the "actual" (mundane) international to convey forth what we want i.e. a clean domicile, a clean interest, therapeutic etc. while all else fails, this is while it's time to apply a spell to assist convey the prevalent Energies into alignment with our desires, or to convey us into alignment with the prevalent Energies. i'm hoping this facilitates you some.

yes I believe they do. I myself am Pagan, this belief is based upon the idea that you draw upon the natural energies of the earth and harness them into spells. There is one catch though. Be careful what you ask for as the wiccan rede states "an it harm none, do what ye will" basically it means cast spells as long as no one is going to get hurt. Also spells for your self often don't work. The personal gain thing in charmed is right! You will get your come upance if the Godess doesn't agree!
Blessed be! x

Yes they do.But people who mess with this stuff also know that when they are changing the way that things should be,they will have to pay for it-every witch knows that every spell or curse is going to return to her(him),just in different form-3 times worse.

It looks to me that you have only recently joined this forum ? and even if you are an 'old hand' you will know you are only going to get a 'cross sense' of opinion!
So you will have to work it out for yourself.
My (humble) opinion is that if you really and truly believe in this sort of thing , it could happen (in your mind)!!
Whatever happens in your mind (or mine) is well out of my scope (or yours)!
So my suggestion is that you direct your thoughts towards another direction! Do you really want to believe that this could be true?? Can you find any reason or logic to believe that it can't possibly be true ??
If people are so weak willed as to believe in any of this rubbish. (including all the religious cra* ) then they get what they deserve!!
Logic thinking is the way out! believe in that.

they work subtly...

My roommate was mad at me and cursed my father's d*** to fall off... he felt pain in his groin for a few days afterwards.

I believe that any wish can be felt... spells, especially spells that require preparation (i.e. ritual bathing, procurement of rare herbs, and other such things) are more to prepare the mind than anything else. Preparation makes it more believable... and when you believe in it, it can work.

Our thoughts have power... loving someone can cause good things to happen... hating someone can cause a bad thing to happen.

Prayers, wishes, spells, curses... it doesnt matter. They are all pleas with the cosmic forces to do what we ask.

I personally prefer not to involve myself in such things other than positive prayers for help and thanksgiving.

Magick spells are the equivallant to prayers. When you pray to your "god/s" do you believe they work?. Spells work in the same way.
I do believe they work as long as they are not for personal gain or to harm people. Otherwise they backfire

Only in your imagination. Is Barney the dinasaur real? What about Baby-Bop. Is Charmed real, and if so, why do I not see any Demons in real life, and just on TV, sunday nights?
