I've been using soaps like Mr. Clean etc. and they aren't real effective removing the build up on the cells. There is no way to wipe or brush between the plates, so I need something that removes the 'dirt' by just soaking. I also tried taking them to a car wash hi-pressure spray. No good either.

I dont remember the name of our first air cleaner but it recomended automatic dishwasher soap it does work so so. I have presure washed them myself the trick is hot HOT water,but one must be carefull not to dent or bend the grids if your using pressure higher than 1500 psi

Try one of two things... Either take some liquid tide and soak the plates in a pot of hot water with the soap or buy some degreaser like Stanley Home Product's original degreaser...That stuff works wonders! :) Good luck...

Call a store that sells comercial coil cleaning produts and ask for there advice you may not be able to purchase it there but they will tell you where to get it they sometimes only sell to contracters

Run em through the dishwasher!
