It's been a long time since I have been on a train, but I would read, read, read; work puzzles, write letters. If you have company, pull out the cards and play some card games. Busses and trains are designed for listening to music, reading, reflecting, writing. If you are social, walk around and get to know the people on the train. Me - I'd rather read!
