The feud is something that strangely is left out of most history books even though it had an important role in shaping the history of humans. The short version is that when species weren't as diversified as they are today, sometime during the quadripous age (during which most species roamed the earth on all fours) there were two species which were excelling above all others in dominance, these two species are the feline and canine species that we know today. Back then they were known as Quadrifels and Quadines. Anyways, these two species were wary of each other because of their growing strength and power. As you know, two dominant nations rarely coexist for too long without a power struggle between the two. It's as if there is never enough power to go around. The Quadrifels which relied mostly on cunning and smarts was secretly devising a plan to overthrow the rule of the Quadines. The Quadines which relied mostly on brute force was so consumed with it's sheer strength that they failed to see the planning of the Quadrifels. The growing tension was so great that the two species were blinded to the slow and aching growth of what we commonly know as the Biped branch of creatures. This is where humans come in. The Quadrifels, who were so meticulous with their planning spent billions of years before coming to agreement on an appropriate attack. Meanwhile the Humanoid branch of the animal kingdom developed exponentially eventually gaining so much strength that they secretly made an alliance with the Quadines. Needless to say the Quadines, whose devotedness to the Humanoids grew so strong that this allowed the Humanoids to eventually enslave both animal kingdoms once and for all. They did this with manipulation and cross breeding. They eventually grew so adapt at breeding the two subservient species that they bred out the strength from the Quadines and the intelligence from the Quadrifels. Rumors say that both the Quadines and the Quadrifels, or dogs and cats to this day use the feud from long ago as a diversionary tactic in secretly planning an attack on humans in the future. They jointly realize that humans, so obsessed with its own vanity are ripe for the plunder. So next time you catch your cat mysteriously eyeing you or your dog staring at you intently you know some of what may be going on in their minds. This is basically the summary but if you are interested you should look up key words in google such as "The Great Biped Deception" or "Quadripeds Unite".

Not always. Why is there a feud between cats and mice. Why is there a feud between, cats and birds. Why is there a feud between, Humans and Cows. I believe it is called the circle of life. The food chain. SOmething like that.

Dogs usually want to play with cats and the cats just want to slap dogs. I have 2 of each. Sometimes one of the cats will actually tease the dog until she chases her. I guess she gets bored. I have found that once a cat is outside it's sometimes a different story for the dog. Cats then become fair game and will go after them and not necessarily in a nice way. Cats are extremely independent and everything has to be on their terms. lol

I have both I have 2 cats and a dog and they get along great.
It depends on if they have been raised around cats or dogs. Like if a dog isn't raised around a cat it probably won't like them and if cats aren't raised around dogs it's not going to like dogs but I've been around dogs that hate other dogs and I've been around cats that hate other cats. But if you raise them together there won't be a feud.
My cats are fine with any dog so long as it doesn't show aggression cats can since that and my dog is fine with any cat.

you see.. there was a major war called the Battle of Boneyard and the cats invaded it more than 4000 years ago. there was a legendary and heroic battle as each side lost millions of soldiers. Thus there was a massive retreat by both sides. They spread all across the country. Now unto this day they still fight 1 on 1. this is because the prime ministers from each side have ordered individuals to battle agaisnt the enemy to continue this epic battle anf finish the other side off once and for all.

both cats and dogs are very territorial, so they are always fighting because the cat thinks the dog is on their land and the dog thinks the cat is on his land, but not all cats and dogs fight, my cats had to live in the garage with two dogs for a few months and they got used to each other and no longer fight.

Bears and horses are one other variety of mammal species. A puppy similar that's within the wild is the wolf. Although it isn't on a better scale, it's from the equal loved ones. Some breeds like huskies and alaskan malumutes are concept to have had wolf breed into them long ago ago

Because of nature. It's natures way of restoring the balance between the animal species. Its a way of keeping the natural order of things. Cats vs. mice, dogs vs. cats, spiders eat bugs. Its just natures way of keeping everything balanced.
