Since chops & soloing are out of style right now, most of the guitar gods are from the 60s, 70s & 80s.

How well they play druged/drunk . How they never miss a beat. How sexy they look while playing the guitar. That's all they eat breath and sleep.

My ex-husband always said you can tell if somebody can play good or not by how much they brag.If somebody carries on like they are the GREATEST ,they probably suck, but if they are modest and say I can play a little or something like that, they are probably pretty good.

i think the ability to write there own music definately, and another big part of it is experimenting with new types of playing styles. they also have to challenge themselves on every single song that they write because if they don't challenge themselves we might wind up with another hawthorne heights. wouldn't that be scary!!
