If you could buy your energy from a different supplier, what services or offers would you want to see? Would you like discounts on other products? Information on gasoline prices rising or falling or where to find the best prices? Would you want to know prices in advance and how to cut your bills? What other things would you find valuable? Or would you never leave your local utility?

As far as I am concerned, alternate suppliers have to prove that they have the know-how to continue to supply the lowest price electricity over the long term. In my area, power prices are set by auction contracts. My electricity supplier must be a "player" in the market with a good track record. All of the other stuff is just fluff. Show me the lowest $/kwh rate and lock it in for a decent length of time or go try selling used cars or something.
