I've taken prescription medications the oral kind and they were too strong for my stomach and had to quit taking them. I was told by a rheumatologist that the only thing left is shots for the pain. I have pain 24-7 and the idea of shots every week or so is very costly. Is there some kind of vitamin or other supplements I could take to eleviate my pain? and symptoms? Suggestions in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

The shots are not covered by my insurance and I would have to pay for them myself. I am on a fixed income and I pay rent and other bills a month. Not to mention that my rheumatologist is a good hour and a half drive from my house and with gas prices being so high, that doesn't help either. Any other ideas other than shots would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

My advice - TAKE THE SHOTS! If you can do this at all (or have someone else do it), try it. I'm on an injected medication and it is absolutely, mind-bogglingly wonderful. Not only am I 99% pain free, but my psoriasis has completely 100% cleared up.

I'm in my 40s and have had arthritis for 10 years. Switching from NSAIDs / steroids / plaquenil / methotrexate to the injected meds 2 years ago was the best thing for me. Unfortunately, you won't know if it'll work for you unless you give it a try.

Please investigate Himilayan Goji Juice. It is the only functional juice with medical validation as well as 34 scientifically proven benefits. There are 72 clinical studies on pubmed.org under the name Lycium Barbarum. After 3 months on this juice (which tastes delicious!) I think you will find amazing results. We have many testimonials from rheumatoid arthritis patients. It is an adaptogen which works on auto-immune deficiencies. It has changed my life!!

Try an alternative medicine or herbal remedy, Apply heat as often as you can and find a support group of other sufferers ( I'll bet there are several on line ). Meds are not always the answer.

Glucosamine is a great help for arthritis, it can take up to 3 months to start getting results, I use a patented version that works much faster but that brand name is not allowed in a answer.
