Yeah, I feel ya.
That is one of the stupidest things that I have ever heard in my life!
A thirteen year old is still very much a child herself. How on earth is she going to gather the emotional, financial and psychological resources needed to care for a baby?
Some thirteen year olds aren't even old enough to BABYSIT, let alone bring another human life into the world!
Some thirteen year olds may be having sex (I think that is MUCH too young!) but that does NOT mean in any way that they are ready to be parents! In fact, that is why they should NOT be having sex!
The only decisions thirteen year old girls ought to be making is what clothes they like, what kind of music they want to listen to, and what they want for lunch!

I don't know but...she is right that 13 year olds can make decisions to. I wouldn't have personally said it would be okay though. I mean the girl is just a baby herself and she doesn't need one. And to be honest that isn't one of the decisions they should be aloud to make but then again we are living in a society where there's people younger than that having sex.

I know exactly what you mean? A 13 year old can not afford to have a baby right now b/c it will be mainly the parents supporting it? She cant even get a job yet.

Yes, that is insane.
If your school or local health clinic offers it, she should try one of those "automated" baby dolls.
They cry and won't stop 'til you comfort them (at ALL times of day and night), have to be changed regularly, fed, etc. One weekend with that, and it will change anyone's mind who doesn't know what parenting is all about.
A baby is WORK. A toddler is WORK. A pre-schooler is WORK. An adolescent is WORK. A teen is... oh, I don't even want to go there.
Anyone feelin' me on that one? ;)

I'm with you.
For that matter, most teens and 20-somethings aren't mature or responsible enough to handle being a parent.
I'm WAY older than that, and its a tough job.
I love being a parent, but it is a full-time occupation.

maybe because she is just a girl herself, no one in their right mind could seriously tell a 13 year old to have a baby and think it is right.
