Hoover (1929-1933)...
His initial reaction that the economic markets would self correct allowed the recession to entrench itself. His next (late 1930) idea to provide economic stimulus by strictly focusing on corporations and business owners (Supply side) made him appear callous to the general public and did little to create financial stability and economic growth.
His further attempts (late 1931) to keep the Federal Budget balanced while creating social programs was the final blow. This fiscal approach created an even deeper recession because he actually ended up increasing taxes.
All this combined with his expectation that individuals and communities first try to help themselves (not to depend on the government) created the political atmosphere that propelled FDR and the welfare entitlement state to the top.

I would have to say....Bill Clinton & Ronald Regan!
In my option, (Clinton) the best presidents we've had in the last 20 years. Who cares what happened in the White House, as long as it didn't affect the way he ran the country, I don't care.
Also, just my option, George W. Bush, one of the worst presidents we've had in the past 20 years.

you merely ought to examine my profile to correctly known my opinion of President Ronald Wilson Reagan. What irritates me approximately maximum of historians is they seem for excuses to no longer credit Reagan with ending the chilly conflict. they think of he merely stumbled into the ideal place on the ideal time. they have a word for human beings like that, yet "idiots", "morons", "feeble minded" does not even start to conceal it. Reagan became into sensible. He became right into a grasp negotiator, a means he discovered struggling with the toughest adversary time-honored to guy: the tightfisted Hollywood studio bosses who might have paid actors with a cup of rice daily in the event that they might. Reagan became into some distance wiser and cleverer than human beings gave him credit for. He knew that SDI might no longer artwork for some years, he knew it would merely grant adequate of a preserve to guard particular gentle U.S. protection rigidity targets. yet he guess that it would scare the Bejesus out of the Soviets, and it did. He guess they might initiate panicking subsequently of all this, and that they did. it incredibly is the place Reagan made his pass. He outmaneuvered the befuddled Gorbachev like Kasparov on the chess board. He saved chiding and prodding Gorbachev to institute this reform, get rid of that requirement, expand this, tighten that, till at some point the Politburo found out they that they have been painted right into a corner, and the satellite tv for pc international locations have been approximately to insurrection. there became into no suggestions left. Reagan's secret financial conflict against the Soviets had bankrupted them, and now they could no longer even administration jap Europe. sport over. Reagan gained. (Gorby merely took the credit like some grinning fool).
