There is a cow, a coyote and a bale of hay on one island. You have a boat to get to another island. How would you get each item to the other island without them leaving them alone with an item that will eat them. For instance, the cow will eat the hay if left alone with it, and the coyote will eat the cow if left alone with it. Do you know the answer?

Take the cow because the coyote won't eat the hay. Come back for the coyote. Take the Coyote across. Take the cow back. Take the hay. The coyote will be on the far side with the hay. Go back for the cow. Your're done.

First you take the cow across, because the coyote won't eat the hay. Then you take the bail of hay across, but you take the cow back. So you are left with you the cow and the coyote on the first side and the bail of hay on the other. Then you take the coyote across and finally go back and get the cow and you've made it across with no casualties!!

cows eat hay? Why would you have a pet Cayote?

I guess you take the cow with you first and ask it what's wrong with grass, leave it on the other side to consider its answer. Pick up the Hay and take it to the other side but this time bring the cow with you, drop the cow in the first place and then pick up the coyote and ask yourself why you have a pet coyote drop it in the second place and go pick up your cow.

First, you take the cow to the side B and leave it.

Then you take the bale of hay to the side B; leave the hay but bring the cow back with you.

Once back on side A, you leave the cow, but load up the coyote and take it to side B and leave it.

Go back to side A and retrieve the cow and take it to side B and you are all set.

I never knew coyotes can eat a cow. They usually go for jackrabbits around where I live. They are not large or powerful enough to take down a cow.
