Yes of course. Especially if they're young, it's fine.

I'm a 41 year old woman and I take naps whenever I can!!

She may not be sleeping through the night. If that is the case, the nap thing is creating a vicious circle, because she doesn't sleep through the night, so she needs a nap, so she's not tired enough to sleep through the night . . . . If that is the case, her parents would do well to keep her up all day on a weekend to re-regulate her sleep-wake cycle.

Or, perhaps she is a bit of a handful and she is getting a nap so that her parents can have a break for an hour to save their sanity.

Well, I'm 42, and I have always taken an afternoon nap- I usually sleep about 5 hours a night, then take a 30min-1hr nap. My father did as well-We have all been pretty successful people, so I don't think it hurt us any. Also, children tend to need more sleep than adults, women tend to need more sleep than men, and growing children especially need more sleep. A number of studies have indicated that taking a nap is a more efficient way of getting sleep, and an hour nap can replace 2 hours of sleep at night.

Completely normal! I'm an adult and I still take naps....every blue moon when I have time to get one, which is hardly never, but yet and still I need them badly and get them when the time is appropriate! There absolutely nothing wrong with any aged person taking a nap.

I would encourage everybody to nap whenever possible. The older I get the more I Miss a nice hour long afternoon nap once in a while.

I'm almost 30, and I still take the occasional nap on a weekend afternoon. My daughter's almost 7, and she'll sleep in the car on the way home from afterschool care. Then, when we get home, she's wide awake and has her second wind until bedtime.

Naps are not age exclusive, so if she's tired and wants to take a nap...more power to her.

I am 33 supposed to be my prime and I still take naps. Speaking of which I think I will. The 16 hour day and 8 sleep is found to be false and misleading. People need to sleep when they tired. A lot of com. are now encouraging(I hope spell check catches this one) their employees to take naps. Good Luck

Yeah, my brother in law is 34 and if he doesn't take a nap when he gets home from work, he is a royal a**!!!
It's a habit that he is into and he's single (and probably will be forever as long as he has to take naps!), so he can do what he wants.

Hmm...I wouldn't be so sure. If it's a regular thing, it might be worth finding out if she is getting enough sleep at night, or if perhaps she is lacking in certain vitamins. Most kids don't nap during the day as a regular thing at that age. I think my kids had stopped at the age of 2 or 3. Worth investigating, but probably nothing to worry about.

Oh yeah. Kids still need naps at that age. It's really good for their brain development. And who cares if it's normal? What, really, is normal? Is there some law somewhere that says exactly how we're supposed to raise our children, and that is considered normal? I don't think so. Every family is different. Let them raise their kids and you worry about yourself. Not being rude, just saying that we all have our own stuff to deal with. We don't need to add to our crap with what other people are doing.

I'm 24 and I like to take naps when I can. I don't think it's anything to worry about.
