On the cards i get from my OB/GYN, it lists my doctors name and then the initials M.D., F.A.C.O.G. Then on the card it lists the other doctors name with the initials D.O., F.A.C.O.O.G. ? Does anyone know what these initials mean? Thank you for all answers.

P.S., I know what the M.D. means.

DO is doctor of osteopathic medicine, its pretty much the same thing as an MD (there are medical doctors and osteopathic doctors, their schooling is slightly different but there isnt much of a difference in them they are equally good). not exactly sure what FACOOG stands for, but it means the doctor is board certified in gynecology
