I think that any people that love each other and who want to live together should be able to get a license to get married. People are making this a religious issue. Many hetro-atheists get married and they are not religious ...They go to a city hall...Its not fair for a couple regardless, of sexual preference should be chastised and not granted the same rights...Many gays live together for years being in love...and if their love one is sick and dying they have no right to make decisions because nobody recognizes that these people are "Married" in the spiritual sense. Maybe, they should be able to register their relationship. Its not fair that these people pay taxes, contribute to the economy and have made great contributions in the arts, sciences, mathematics and any other walk of life that you can think of. If not...than they are being discriminated against. I mean, the bible is full of rhetoric about divorce and adultery....and how many Christians are not guilty of these acts? Its all about ignorance and hypocracy!

i do no longer think of it is going to be legalized. Marriage is the union of a guy and a woman. something isn't a marriage. i think of the gay/les community would have a much extra effective hazard at some style of criminal union in the event that they did no longer call it marriage. between the biggest problems is financial. think of a enterprise that employs tens-of-hundreds of people and can provide insurance for the worker's better half. If comparable-intercourse marriage is ever legalized, think of the fee this enterprise would have in further insurance. maximum possibly, the enterprise would could drop the better half insurance for each man or woman that has it now. additionally, would the enterprise then be obligated to maintain sexual orientation a secret? My guess is that's the subsequent extensive issue. human beings getting "outed" and suing over it. Too many problems at this element. in step with hazard sometime, yet stunning now could be no longer the time. by technique of ways, I haven't any issue with gay or les human beings often. merely so which you comprehend.

Common law marriages, yes.
If two people want to make a commitment to each other, they should enjoy some of the benefits.
I am not pro or anti homosexual and I really don't care for that lifestyle.
But there are a lot of people that should be afforded legal protection with their life partners.

Of Course!
(since the opposition is mostly from the religious right) I'm sure that God would much rather see a happily married gay couple than a divorcing straight couple...
besides, not giving homosexual couples the same rights as heterosexual couples is a form of discrimination - something the government should stay away from.

many people think that marriage's shouldn't be allowed because they are not opposite sexes, which was the definition of marriage. others think that if you love somebody, you should get married. I think its more then your sex or love. when you get married, you get benefits like when your partner dies, and insurance, and stuff like that. so the question is, should same-sex partners be allowed these benefits.i think its great that your looking for opinions before you make a choice, and i hope this helps.

no, actually over 25 states already have state laws making them illegal. And in every state that has had an admendment on the ballot, the Ameican citizens always votes in large numbers not to make it legal, or basicly to make it only one man and one women, thus also making man/goat or man/boy or group marriages also illegal.
The only places that have ever had it legal has done it though court actions and the will of judges not the people.
