my husband is taking zosyn for a severe bacterial infection via IV's. Since taking the acidophilis he has been getting severe headaches, knee pain and back pain. Could it be the combination?

He should talk to his doctor, but I don't think it's the acidophilis. The acidophilis should be restoring his body with healthy bacteria. I would suggest he eat plain whole milk yogurt until he gets confirmation from the doctor.

acidophilis is a bacteria, right? So if he's already trying to kill the bacteria that's making him sick, and he takes more bacteria (even if they are "the good kind"), the body doesn't know it, and will just have to work harder to kill the bacteria his body is fighting. Talk to a doctor about this, but I don't think it's a good idea.

That whole thing was so ******* stupid. Now you get a story. I've loved him since eighth grade and he knew it. But he had a girlfriend so I didn't go after him because I actually respect peoples relationships. And then about six months ago he kept complaining to me about his relationship problems and he ended up breaking up with her. And then he made it seem like he liked me. And he kissed me. And we were "dating" but we weren't. And then when he wanted to have sex and I said I wasn't ready he left. 4) Sydney, shes a good friend. 5) Kylie. We've known each other since we were kids.

Acidophilus is not causing these symptoms in him, but it may be preventing his antibiotics from working properly, making his infection just continue to take over. Acidophilus is harmless; I even give it to my pets. But as mentioned in previous posts, it is a bacteria itself that needs to be taken after the antibiotic course is finished.

It might be but acidophilus is usually something that effects your digestive system. It is to replace good bacteria that is being stripped from your body, usually while taking antibiotics. Talk to the doctor and see if it is causing the other symptoms.

there are combating each other. when he is through with the antibiotics then he should start taking a multi-dophilis. the multi-dophilis is available at health food stores and herb shops.

acidophilus is pretty worthless taken orally despite what all the naturalists say (its quickly killed by your stomach acid, it never makes it into your intestines to "improve health"), i wouldnt waste my money on it period. i doubt thats what is giving him the headaches and stuff though
