When will the doctor tell me really how far along I am?

I should be like 16 weeks but I havent been to a doctor to see how far along I really am? I have and appointment but they said it was just going to be a physical. When are they gonna tell me or do an altrasound?

Well first of all you should have been in sooner then this. But I am going to assume you have your reasons why you weren't and I will not judge you.
Now at this appointment they will be able to give you a guesstimate on how far along you are by examining and measuring you. However will not be able to give you a more accurate date until you have an ultrasound which you will probably be able to schedule at your appointment though it may take a couple weeks depending on how your clinic is before you can get in.

Your doctor can estimate how far along you are by how big your uterus feels from the outside your body. Most practitioners, however, would get you in sooner and prescribe an ultra sound to check the fetal size... and a more accurate due date. If this appointment really does just turn out to be a physical, I would look into getting a different doctor. If you are sixteen weeks, you are already past your first trimester, and you need prenatal care. Don't take any chances. Best of Luck!

when you go to the doctor, they will probably do an ultrasound to see exactly how far along you are. It won't be just a physical. They should do an ultrasound and tell you exactly how far along you are. Any good doctor would do that. You should also be taking pre-natal vitamins.

well that would ususally depend on the doctor and if you feel anxious about it tell him to sch a ultrasound for peace of mind but generally next 4 weeks after your intial appointment will you know how far along you are

you usually receive your first ultrasound between 16-20 weeks that is just to see how the baby is growing and you can sometimes tell the sex of the baby then too. So if you don't receive it this appt you most definitely should have one on the next.

i went to my first prenatal appt. and the nurse asked for last period and said January 10th 2007 then during my sonogram dr said January 7 2007 so itll be around the sonogram time and he'll give probably most accurate wks along, so i am 8wks 6days.But you are way farther along i hope you have had the sonogram or something already!?! If not you need to go your already like 4months and my friend knew the gender already!!! lucky her anyways Congrats to you!!!
