What was the Y2K about? And which of the above does Bill Gates fall under? Is he a windows guy or Macintosh?

I have used Windows most of my computer life. Macs are great but the software is usually more expensive. If you are looking to do graphics only, go Mac. Business and other applications, Windows. Bill Gates is Windows.

Y2K was about the year 2000. Nobody planned for software needing to write in dates beyond two digits, like 96 for 1996. But when we were getting to 2000, suddenly we had the thought that we needed four digits. The worry was all those programs could crash and we would have enormous problems in transportation and delivery of goods. It did not happen because of some very dedicated programmers they brought out of retirement who worked very hard.

windows and macintosh are 2 different operating systems. Bill Gates is the windows guy and Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniack are the mac/apple guys. Y2K was for any machine that was not capable of turning to the year 2000 and that would have reverted back to 1900..

Well, Windows operates on PC, MAC operates with MAC software although you can get Windows platform (wanna be windows to work on a MAC).

MACS are primarily used for graphic or video editing. All movies and high end graphics programs are usually edited on a MAC.

PC is more user friendly (which most of the population uses)

MAC again is usually used by professional geared personnel that deal with movie editing, graphic design etc.

The Y2K was basically some bullshit, which if you do a google search or yahoo search about what is Y2K about you can find detailed articles..

Bill Gates is the founder and CEO of Windows so he is defiantly a Windows guy!..

OH and as far as stablity is concernted MACS RARELY CRASH, unless their is a hardware problem.

Bill gates is the founder of Microsoft..Y2K is when everyone wondered if computers would accept the year 2000.
Windows is more user friendly and simpler for the user to understand..however Macintosh is much more secure and uses tab browsing

Windows let you see out of your house, while a Macintosh stops you getting wet in the rain. I'd have to say Windows are better, as I don't like working in the dark.

Just kidding... Macs are overpriced pieces of shiny, and Windows is a pile of buggy crashware. For free, and given a choice between the two, it would be a Mac, but paying my own money it's a PC with Linux on.

Bill Gates owns Microsoft, which owns Windows. I personally prefer macs, but they are also a lot more expensive. However, Windows is an operating system, not a computer, but Macs have their own os.

Y2K stands for "year two kilo" or "year two thousand"
The reason everyone freaked out was because all the computers were programmed to keep track of dates (like insurance payment due dates, library book due dates, records of people's dates of birth, employment records, etc) using only two numbers. 1995 was known to all computers as simply 95. When the year 2000 came, all the computers would think that it was actually 1900. So everyone in the whole world called their computer programmers and got everything fixed so the computers wouldn't all crash and burn on 1/1/2000. And everyone freaked out for nothing.

Bill gates owns windows, Mac is the most stable system, but a bit hard to find. Most commercial businesses use Mac.

Bill Gates owns Microsoft which makes Windows. Macs vs. PCs is what you are reffering to. Both are good depending on what you want to use them for. Generally Macs are better for media, video, music and such.
