If a tornado can pick up cars and moble homes, how did the Native American people in the midwest survive through them? I dont think a teepee would be the safest place to be during a tornado.

Several plains tribes actually lived inside large earthern mounds, basically man-made hills which were hollow inside.
There is an excellent recreation of a Pawnee Earth Lodge at the Field Museum in Chicago.

They probably just got swept up and then set up camp wherever they landed. How do you think they got to be all over the place anyhow?

They were picked up off the ground and started speaking gibberish and were thrown miles into the air. lol
