sounds to me like either the cycling thermostat or the hi-limit thermostat. Both of these being safety switches, will open due to the bi metal connectors being induced with too much heat, thus opening the circuit to the heater and motor, until they cool and close again. And this is not a guess, I know this stuff its my job.

Timer may be defected. Try turning it slowly to next cycle. If the dryer activates, this confirms the defected timer.

probably overheating. get the heat sensor (thermostat) checked out.
