Do you think the country would have run a lot smoother under Al Gore, I do.

You neo- cons need to get real. He stole both elections, first election he didn't even get the popular vote. When it becomes more important to get your candidate in office then to have a fair and legal election, you should examine your prioritys.

Of course!

Who knows, maybe 9/11 would never have happened. Wouldn't that be nice? And even so, Gore would have leapt out of that chair and he certainly would not have squandered the opportunity to pull the nation together as one. We would almost certainly not be entrenched in this fool's errand of a conflict in Iraq, and Iran wouldn't be playing silly buggers either... probably.

What else? Well the deficit wouldn't have happened. Gore would have capitalized on the surplus that Clinton left behind. The rich would have a little less money in the bank, while the middle class would have about the same, maybe a little more. The poor would still be poor but their future might be brighter and definitely not just plain ol' bleak. We certainly wouldn't be giving tax funds away for fun while Social Security needs all it can get.

Maybe everyone would be on the way to having healthcare coverage, including all those millions of children who we really owe it to. Abortion would still be a choice instead of on the way to becoming a distant memory.

The tsunami and Katrina victims would have been helped within hours... instead of several days to a week later. And the amount of goodwill spread by this country around the world would be cheerfully received. We would still count dozens of other nations as our allies instead of as pissed off neighbors. Vicente Fox wouldn't have decriminalized drugs just to piss us off. Colin Powell would still have a chance at the presidency someday instead of having to hang his head in shame. The UN wouldn't consider us thieves and liars at all future UN summits. Cheney would be back at Halliburton ripping off whoever he can and Rumsfeld may have resigned and just be talking gibberish to the television.

Most importantly, our government wouldn't be blatantly breaking the law and the Constitution, lying about it, and then saying they're not breaking any law when caught. They wouldn't be spying on innocent Americans. They sure wouldn't be using issues such as illegal immigration and gay marriage as a distraction tactic.

And I firmly believe that Gore's approval rating would definitely be outside of the toilet.

Instead we got Mr. Loser guy and his comically pathetic cronies... and we're going to be in a world of hurt for decades to come.

Thanks Mr. Bush, I hope you enjoy all the money.

And to Mr. Gore, if by some weird quirk of fate you do read this... please run for President in 2008. We've been without one for nearly six years now and it's really starting to show.

[My friend Answerman is absolutely correct. Katherine Harris (who was probably doing Jeb at the time) made the decision. She's one of Bush's "heck of a job" people. Meanwhile, in Ohio in 2004, the Exit Polls told the exact opposite story to the supposed count. Since that is completely illogical -- and has NEVER happened before -- we can assume the whole thing was rigged. The illegal conduct was aided by the lack of any accountability in the form of a paper trail. For the Exit Polls to contradict the results requires everyone in Ohio to blatantly lie about their vote, which is 100% improbable.]

The stock market started to show signs of bursting in 1998 AND we were all warned by Greenspan to prepare for the pop. No health insurance bill was ever passed by congress and Clinton did not use his popularity to push one through. The WTC was bombed in 93 with no presidential response. Like Bush, AL Gore's family was deeply entrenched in politics (even more so).
Gore could not even win his home state, you ever wonder way?

Even given all of that I would have to say that things would be about the same, with the exception of the war in Iraq. I believe Gore would have been too smart to be conned by Chalabi, as he was able to do with the current administration (along with 98% of congress).

With out that war would we all be in a better place? Would things be smoother? I don't know. What I do know is that if the National Guard was here doing their job rather than the regular army's job in Iraq, hurricane rescue efforts would have been more efficient.

Let us not forget about all the lives lost. No price tag for that.

As far as your view on the election...did you think the same when Kennedy "stole" the election? The electoral college is an outdated system that should be done away with, but the election was fair under our imperfect system ( I'm sure you are aware that much of Floride is home to a seasonal population that illegally voted in two states... well documented FACT). You can have your opinion on the election but it is just that, YOUR OPINION and that doesn't make it fact, nor do half truths and propaganda.

Well lets see - the thousands of Americans who have died in W's war of arogance would still be alive.

The thouseands of non-americans who have died at W's hand would still be alive.

The world would be a safer place.

The economy would be stronger. The dollar would not be so weak in the world market.

Gas would not be 3.50 a gallon.

The world would not hate Americans.

There would be much more good will in the world.

The enviroment would be cleaner.

Americans would be safer.

America would not be on the short list of nations that use or even condone torture.

The horrific things that happened to people in the wake of katrina would not have happend - at least not on the same scale that they did.

People wouldent think that Christians are quite as stupid as they do.

The MPAA and RIAA woud not be running the justice system.

We would not be spending 48 cents out of every tax dollar on the military.

The national dept would not be soaring.

Some one else would probabbly have actually DONE something to make americans safer - rather than increasing and then feeding off of American's fear.

How much longer do I need to go on?

This guy is even worse than his dad - who, was not even that bungling...

Pretty much everything would be better if the Emporor had not taken over the empire.

W. is the best argument against democracy to be seen in a generation.

President Bush was elected to the presidency. Who is the naive child quoting Robert Kennedy, Jr.? Since when are the Kennedy's a reputable source for anything? How many times did Al Gore want votes counted in Florida? Let's see.....maybe until he invent an aborted chad? What did we have, hanging chads, pregnant chads? I think Al Gore would have bored us all into a deep sleep, the terrorist could have walked in under his all too lofty nose and done whatever they wanted!!!! It doesn't matter how many times you say Gore or Kerry won, they didn't, you can't wish it so. The country is fine, liberals have been throwing a fit for six years.

Appointed? LOL! What kind of loser idiot puppet would parrot that lameass lie all this time after? Talk about not having a clue what happened and the attempt by the Democrats and the Supreme Court of Florida to invalidate Bush's election. The US Supreme Court preserved the rule of law by preventing the subversion of law by the left.

You really should look at the real facts and try using your brain for more than keeping your ears apart.

Well, I don't know how Gore would have reacted to 9/11. Probably not go invade two countries, but he would have done a better job I think, especially after serving 8 years with the coolest guy to ever be president, Yeahhhhhh Billy C.

Elected & appointed is two different things. Your liberalism is showing. Won poular & electoral vote just like forefathers intended. Stop being a bad sport. Every Senator & all but one Representative voted to go to war, so stop your constant whining.
No Gore thinks he invented the internet, if so where is is billions from the invention.

This country is in such financial debt, when clinton had worked so hard to almost even it out. How he could be impeached for lying about sex, and Bush not be for lying about starting a war, the world will never know.

I think a turd could do a better job but you would still have the same terminology and smell. At least Gore would see we have clean water , air and better jobs. I don't think he was driven by greed like Bush is so my answer is yes.

I was just wondering the same thing the other day.

Smoother? that's hard to define. Some things would be better and some wouldn't.

We would have gone into Afghanistan. but not into IRAQ.

Our taxes wouldn't be lower, but our energy policies would be better.
