I asked this question under the mitsubishi cars section, and just about everyone was partial to the eclipse. So now I am posting it in the acura section hoping for different results. 2000 eclipse vs. 2002 rsx. I have the eclipse and am looking at an rsx.

Acura by a mile, they're just more reliable. I still have my 90 Integra and it has over 300000 miles, it's been back and forth from East Coast to West several times and it STILL runs STRONG. I'm in the market for a new car and I sticking with the Honda family, you can't go wrong. I have driven both cars and the RSX is much more responsive and gives the driver a better road experience.

No offence but you made a mistake when you bought the Eclipse. Go for the RSX type S. Sweet car. I test drove one earlier this week, very nice ride, good amount of power, 6 speed, plus theres tons of mods and it just looks better than a Eclipse. You can find an RSX for less than 20k.

I have owned an 87 Integra and also a 90 Eclipse.
Hands down the Acura was a far better car. Much better perfomrance and had a much better resale than the mitsubishi.
If I was looking now would go for the Acura no questions.

The Acura is a better car mechanically, but if you like power, the Mitsubishi offers a six cylinder engine with about sixty more horsepower. Take both cars for a test drive.

Acuras are better handling, more comfortable, more reliable, get better gas mileage, last longer, and have MUCH better resale value. You'r egonna find out about the last part when to try to sell yours. Good luck.
I think the RSX is probably the best small, sporty car ever made.
