Take a chelated calcium tablet that has vitamin D3 in it. Also take a magnesium tablet ~ as they work together ~ together with the calcium a half hour before bed time♥ Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) and Vitamin B3 (Niacin) work together to produce the brain chemical serotonin, which is essential for restful REM sleep, so take a multi B complex supplement that includes all the B's ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12. Have a soothing cup of organic loose leaf chamomile tea ~ this could be the sleep remedy you need too♥ For more difficult insomnia, try 1mg of melatonin sublingually (dissolved under the tongue) 15 minutes before bedtime♥any good health food store will be able to provide you with all these things♥ Sweet dreams♥

Try taking melatonin at night. That's an herbal supplement that can help you sleep. I usually take it with extra calcium as that's supposed to help too. You can also take valarian root which can come in a capsule form. That one is significantly stronger.
There is also an OTC product on the market by Tylenol called Simply Sleep. It's used just as a sleep aid and not a pain killer like all the other products are. I don't think it's natural, but at least you wouldn't have to get a prescription.

I too suffered from insomnia for 2 years and the frustration of it made me miserable. A friend recommended Himilayan Goji Juice, the only functional juice on the market with medical validation.....you can check the 72 clinical studies at pubmed.org under the name Lycium Barbarum. After 2 days of drinking this juice I started having restful sleeps and have been sleeping through the night ever since! It is an adaptogen which works on auto-immune deficiencies....It has changed my life and it is all from a little red berry found in Tibet!!!

I used to obsess if I didn't get at least 8 hrs a night, I took anything and everything there is to take an usually ended up feeling more tired. Finally I came to the conclusion that the most natural thing is to allow my body to sleep and wake-up when it want's to, and it has regulated itsself to 5-6 hrs a night, but I feel better now than when I tried to force myself to sleep more..oddly I noticed that the more active I became the less sleep I needed.

Use lavendar.
Take a bath using either epsom salts or sweet almond oil and a few drops of lavedar essential oil.
Put some dried lavendar flowers in your pillow.
Or use a diffuser with lavendar.
Drink chamomile tea while you're in your lavendar bath.
Pray, meditate.
Pills are not natural.

melatonin is used for older people who do not produce the chemical as well anymore. Excedrin PM is great and non-habit forming. I use the aspirin version.
Do not drink alcohol.
Do not look at tv or computer screens before bedtime.
Hot tea has flavors for bed time and a little milk in it really puts me out.
