does anybody know if a woman who has been sergically styrelised( fellopeon tubes tied with plastic tubes )for eight years and is 36 years old can get pregnant ? and what are the chances ? and has anyone known of this ? thanx in advance for any replies

It is possible but not likely. being 36 doesnt have too much to do with it unless you arent ovulating (ie: early menopause) just like a vasectomy- I think the rate is 1% failure. tubes tied should be around the same failure rate.

For woman who have their tubes tied, there is a 0.02% percent chance of them getting pregnant. For men who have been 'fixed', there is a 0.04% chance of them getting a woman pregnant. However, each year, the percentage gets a little higher.

The chances are very very low. And if a woman gets pregnant after having her tubes tied, there is a very high chance of ectopic pregnany or miscarriage in the first few weeks.

The chance of getting pregnant after sterirization is .5%, so I guess it is possible.

Yes. the problem with women being sterilised compared to men is that women cant be checked to see if it has worked, whereas men can. after my last child i was advised not to be sterilised because of this problem and for my husband to have the snip instead. so off i sent him!!

It is possible but very rare, the operation would have to be bodged for that to happen
