I thought he was perfect. He was my best friend. He loved horses as much as me. I waited 5 years for him. We did everything together, singing and dancing like no one else was there, research, book talks, I mean EVERYTHING. Then I stopped liking him; I just gave up. My friend had been going out with him. She told me he had said he liked me for a day. I waited 5 years and only got a day in return. He has had to ask me my name twice now. He also didn't even remember how I loved horses.
How can he forget the bond beyond belief that we shared? Am I wrong to miss him? I don't like him anymore, I am just hurt. Can someone really forget 5 years of being a best friend? Honestly, I don't love him or anything. I am just in doubt that that could really happen. He doesn't realize I exist often. He doesn't remember me at all. Will the pain ever cease? Has anything like this ever happened to you?

I have been there before, and I still remember the pain. If you try to get over it, you never will. Over time it will get eaiser for you. He was and will always be an important part of your life, and that's perfectly ok. You say you don't love him, but there are different types and degrees of love, friends can love friends.

Dear shauna. It is not a tragic story. I'm sorry if sound kind of rude, but by what you have said - its like this... he liked you only for a day as he says. Have you not ever felt this in his behaviour ? Remember, at subtle levels he might have expressed his true feelings in his behaviour sometime. But just because you loved and trusted him, you ignored. One cant change an opinion about anyone just over night. You both took 5 years to know each other. Never think that you stay with someone after knowing him or her. You stay with someone to keep knowing him / her. And when you know, you may decide eventually over time whether or not to continue. That you both have decided already. Just that in your case, he happened the first one to decide. Now grow up and dont groan. Life goes on - so will you - but this time, be watchful. The one who loves you will stand apart from the crowd. And yes dont choose anyone based on likings ( horses or anything ). Choose by attitude ! Have the best !

Trust me you will definitely get over him!! I dated my ex for 6 years and just out of the blue he went bizarre. Take time out for yourself and remember that you are pretty inside and out and just know always that one monkey don't stop the show! Take care!!

You will get over it, but it will take a while.......longer than you would like for it to. Find something, or someone to occupy your time better, Good Luck!!
